Vacation Bible School 2010

Yes, their shirts are wet, hosing out a trash can outside and then Christian putting tape on the spray nozzle on the sink, silly boys.

The goofy grins are because we are slap-happy and exhausted from this long week of VBS.

I have been the VBS Director at our church for the past 5 years, so of course it is just natural for my boys to be so willing to help. Actually, they were fabulous this week, I was so proud of them. Christian taught the Kindergarten class and Cameron helped in the 3 year olds thru PreK class - the hardest class!

Well, it has been a lonnnnnggggg week, all starting with our annual VBS kick-off last Saturday. Each year we make a float for our town Jubilee Days festival's parade, pass out flyers to the kids for them to come to the kick-off following the parade and register for Vacation Bible School. The church is only two blocks from main street so this works really well. We usually get a dunking booth and have other games and serve lots of free hot dogs. Our float took 2nd place, lots of kids got registered and we all had a great time.

VBS then started Monday, since there was no funding for summer school and our pool was closed there isn't much for kids to do here so we decided to conduct VBS from 8:30 to 5. Whew, this was a big task, after the second day I thought we were crazy, by the third day we were all delirious but it has all been worth it. Wednesday, one of our 5th graders asked Jesus to be his Saviour and more on Thursday, what an awesome experience it is and was to see God working and moving and saving lives. Church members of all ages pitched in to help and I was so blessed to be a part of it.

UPDATE: The spray nozzle on the sink that I mentioned earlier...well, James got it the next morning, LOL
