ValleyPalooza!

Missouri Valley College hosted "valleypalooza" a family weekend in which we were invited to partake.  It was MVC's first home football game and families were fed a nice dinner beforehand and entertained by the dueling pianos...I think that was really their name, they were..um...interesting...and loud.  Regardless, we had a good time and watched a good football game, I love football.

So stinkin' cute.

Firsts - 2013

Our first son's first year of college!  Christian is attending Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO.  He is playing golf and he is a dual major in Music and Business...I know, we'll see what happens.

Christian with his golf coach, signing his letter of intent.

We moved him into his dorm....*sniff, you can take that sniff two ways...tears or a dorm full of stinky young men.

Cameron's first day of his Junior year of high school...isn't this a great pic?  This is what he thought was an appropriate first day of school picture.

Christian's first golf tournament, it was a tournament at Evangel University in Springfield so I took a day off and we followed Christian around in a golf cart and watched him play.

*Note: I am playing catch-up.

Graduation 2013 *no I didn't cry

My firstborn, Christian Michael, graduated from high school!
And I know how to throw a party!  I had help, of course, some friends of mine helped with the food and aunt and uncle helped with clean up along with friends and my awesome hubby.  I rented the fellowship hall at a local church that was right across from the high school which was so convenvient.
I compiled a 3 ring binder of all the certificates and awards that Christian received during his school years, it was work but it is really neat to look at and since he changed schools he didn't get a letterman's jacket so I made this "thing" to put his medals and letters on.  It was a lot of fun to see the things he has created and written...especially in early grade school.
Plans have changed and Christian is now going to attend Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO.  He received 3 scholarships (Music, Golf, and Academic) and he is going to major in music.  We are very proud of him and can see the hand of God in his life.  So very blessed!
 I know...we are so weird...

Homecoming 2013

A student took this picture and posted it on facebook, lol
I blogged about Homecoming this time last year as both my boys were nominated as Prince and King Candidates and they had just begun attending Lincoln High School.  Well, this year they were again nominated and this time their fellow students had a better understanding of who they are.  It was pretty cool.  Cameron's girlfriend, Elissa, was also nominated so he got to escort her.  Christian, on the other hand, escorted the tallest girl in the entire Senior class.  We did have a good chuckle about this, anyone would have been dwarfed by her but Christian definitely isn't the tallest little fellow.  She also wore heels.   It was a fun evening, the boys didn't win but Cameron's girlfriend did win Princess.  Cameron had a fabulous game, he played really well and Christian took a "new" girl (new to us) to the dance which has now become his girlfriend.  This is the girl he unexpectedly brought to the house the other day without warning, she came to church with us the following day...she is very sweet...and she is a redhead...

Cameron's Infamous Apple Crisp

One of Cameron's elective classes is a foods/nutrition class, he says he's in the class because nothing else would fit in his schedule, his girlfriend is also in the class...hmmm.  The class made a Thanksgiving Dinner for their class, a guest of their choosing, and the school administration.  He had to find a recipe and he chose my (also my mom's) Apple Crisp.  It really is the best there is.  They had to grocery shop, the works.  He did a trial run at home the other night and it turned out pretty good.  However, when he made it at school yesterday, it must have turned out extraordinarily fabulous because everyone ate it until it was gone and he got several compliments.  He came home and told dad that he "tweaked" the recipe and it was a lot better than mom's.  I asked him this morning what he did to "tweak" it and he said "dad told you?"  Cameron said "I don't know, it just tasted better".  I said "maybe you had better apples" :P

The pictures below are of my Apple Crisp...there are no pictures of his...muhahaha!

Prom 2012

My oldest baby went to Prom!  He looks so handsome and no, he didn't get dirty...surprisingly.  He took pictures at his girlfriend's house (her name is Lydia).  And then took pics with some friends.  I'm just gonna post some of them.
